Are You Registered with the Family Care Safety Registry?
Potential employees must be registered with the State of Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Family Care Safety Registry. Potential employees will undergo a State of Missouri FCSR check. The FCSR check will be conducted annually on all CCSS employees. Please click HERE to access their website.
A valid driver’s license and proof of insurability is required for all potential employees. Potential employees will undergo a State of Missouri Motor Vehicle Record check. The MVR check will be conducted annually on all CCSS employees.
All job applicants are subject to drug and alcohol testing. All offers of employment with CCSS are conditioned on the applicant submitting to and successfully completing and passing a drug and alcohol test.
CCSS employees are strictly prohibited from reporting to work intoxicated or impaired by or under the influence of alcohol, inhalants, illegal drugs, marijuana (recreational or medical), non-prescription controlled substances, or other controlled substances or intoxicants.
Potential employees are required to present proof of GED or high school diploma prior to employment.

CCSS purchases $40,000 of life coverage for full-time employees, with the option for employees to purchase supplemental life
CCSS purchases accidental insurance for full-time employees, with an option for employees to purchase critical illness
CCSS funds short-term disability after one month of continuous employment for full-time employees who are unable to work
CCSS employees have access to an Employee Assistance Program and 24-hour virtual visits, if and when the need arises.
CCSS participates in the Local Area Government Employee Retirement Plan (LAGERS) and funds the monthly premium for this pension plan, with eligibility for disability and survivor benefits.
CCSS offers a voluntary deferred compensation plan through a national company that allows full-time employees to save for retirement on a voluntary basis.
Full-time employees accrue 8 hours of vacation leave each month which may be used after completing 3 months of employment.
Full-time employees accrue 8 hours of sick leave each month which may be used after accrued.
Generally, CCSS observes 13 holidays each year.

Assistant Director of Day Services

Callaway County Special Services (CCSS) is dedicated to providing exceptional support and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are committed to fostering independence and enhancing the quality of life for those we serve.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Assistant Director of Day Services to join our team. This role involves implementing objectives and goals identified in Individual Support Plans, focusing on skill acquisition, development, retention, and maintenance to help consumers achieve maximum self-sufficiency and independence. The Assistant Director ensures services comply with CARF accreditation standards, DMH regulations, and MMAC program requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary and administrative teams.
• Supervise Direct Support Professionals and complete performance evaluations.
• Plan and oversee activities based on individual support plans.
• Develop and implement training plans.
• Provide staff coverage and serve as backup to the Director.
• Ensure quality assurance and develop formal curriculum.
• Monitor plan effectiveness and recommend new goals.
• Conduct staff orientation and training.
• Resolve problems and grievances, promote teamwork, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field, or an associate’s degree with relevant experience.
• Experience: At least one year of experience providing direct care to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to solve complex problems, and effective communication skills.
• Other Requirements: Valid Driver’s License, DMH Abuse and Neglect certification, and ability to obtain Medication Administration and CPR/First Aid Certification.
Physical Demands:
• Active throughout the day, requiring various physical activities.
• Must frequently lift and/or move 10 to 25 pounds and assist individuals weighing over 100 pounds.
Work Environment:
• Exposure to bodily fluids and moderate noise.
• Potential for cuts, scratches, bruises, bites, and volatile situations.
